How to Clean a Dump Trailer
If you own a dump trailer you’ve probably thought to yourself, ‘Why bother cleaning it when it’s just going to get dirty again?’ While cleaning a dump truck can feel pointless, regularly removing your model’s muck and grime can do a lot for its overall longevity and help save you from a costly repair. For tips on how to get your trailer looking clean and pristine in no time, check out our guide below.
Rinse
To begin your dump trailer’s scrub down start by grabbing a broom and clearing out all of the debris and trash sitting in your trailer bed. Next, use a hose—or preferably, a power washer— to rinse as much muck and debris as possible off of your dump trailer. Remember to get the inside and outside of the trailer as well as the underbelly.
Wash
To remove stuck-on dirt and grime from your trailer, we recommend using an acid wash. This can be applied with an industrial-grade spray bottle and should only be left on for as long as the included instructions recommend. After applying the acid wash, feel free to take a scrub brush and some automotive soap to remove stuck-on debris or rust. Afterward, rinse your dump trailer once again from top to bottom and inside and out. Afterward, we recommend applying a protective wax to your model to help better protect it from the elements.
